Tech startups dramatically changing business intelligence in recruiting: Survey

A survey conducted by recruitment firm Antal International Network has revealed that a few disruptive start-ups in the field of online assessments, video assessments, and networking platforms are dramatically changing business intelligence in the domain of recruitments by leveraging social media, digital media, data analytics, and big data.

Antal stated that these technology led recruitment platforms seek to automate the recruitment process for technology skill hiring and to some extent replace the traditional specialist recruiters focused on technology hiring. The company conducted a survey of over 100 professionals which included engineering managers/directors of engineering, vice presidents engineering and CTOs of early stage and established e commerce businesses.

Nearly 66% stated they are using technology led recruitment platforms while 75% stated they are also partnering with executive recruitment firms for their technology hires. 70 % of the people who use a recruitment platform felt that the turnaround time is much faster, 84% felt that the profiles received through a recruitment platform are accurate and relevant while 20% felt the process is much faster and saves time and money.

74 % of the people who engaged specialist recruiters for their technology hires felt that a specialist recruiter provides personalised consulting and feeds them information from the market. They also consider a specialist recruiter as a good source for current market trends, and for guidance on good career moves. They also felt that a human touch drives them to work with a good recruiter.

Majority of the respondents felt that they would engage with a technology led recruitment platform for entry level and junior level hiring whereas they would prefer a specialist recruiter to execute their mid/senior level searches.

A whopping 96% of the respondents felt that they would trust a specialist recruiter to help them make the next career move over a technology led recruitment platform.

A technology led recruitment platform compromises of algorithms, which would match client criteria with a candidate’s technical skill sets and present the relevant results.
